Blepharoplasty (Eyelid reconstruction surgery)

Is a surgical procedure aimed at correcting excess skin and muscle of the upper and lower eyelids, as well as the underlying fatty tissue. Blepharoplasty can improve the loose skin and bags under the eyes. It can also help improve the vision in elderly patients suffering from drooping eyelids. Although you can add a crease to the upper eyelid of a person of Asian origin, you will not be able to erase all evidence of racial heritage. Blepharoplasty does not eliminate wrinkles around the eyes, dark circles or raise eyebrows.

The surgery is personalized for each patient, depending on his or her particular needs. It can be performed in the upper or lower eyelids (or both), or in conjunction with other surgical procedures in the area of the eyes, face, eyebrows or nose. In some patients suffering from loose skin between the lower eyelid and the eyeball, it is possible to recommend the lower eyelid lift procedure (cantoplasty /canthopexy) at the time of blepharoplasty. Eyelid surgery does not stop the process of aging. However, it can reduce the appearance of looseness and bags under the eyes.
