Dermal fillers

Have you been curious about dermal fillers but worry about looking overdone? Well, don’t worry! In the hands of a skilled certified injector or a physician with an artistic sensibility, no one will ever know you have had dermal filler injections to restore lost volume in the face.

In fact, you’d be surprised to learn how many people you see every day who have had these injections. They’ve chosen their certified injector wisely, so all you know is that they look terrific.

You can choose wisely, too. With extensive experience and training in a full range of leading edge cosmetic procedures, our physicians and certified injectors know how to use these filler formulas to give you a natural, more youthful look that is significant, yet understated. These fillers are among the most effective non-surgical anti-aging treatments available today and the best way to regain that youthful fullness in the face and neck.

Dr. Valdez offers Juvederm, Radiesse, Restylane, Perlane – all FDA-approved and each with its own special properties. Dr. Valdez will recommend which filler or combination of fillers will help you achieve the look of a younger version of you.

A fine needle is used, and most fillers contain Lidocaine right in the formula for a numbing effect during the injections. Plus, we use a numbing cream at the injection sites. These fillers are safe, so allergy testing is not required.

Recovery from Dermal Fillers

One of the key advantages to dermal fillers is that there is no down time – you can continue your life immediately. Some people do experience some slight swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection sites, however. These effects are generally short-lived, and you can cover any discoloration with makeup.

Juvéderm

Juvéderm is great for those nasolabial folds that run from the nose to the mouth, and it is often used to create fuller, pouty lips. Of all the facial fillers, it has the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid, a substance that is already in the body.

With a syrupy consistency, Juvederm is very smooth when injected into the skin, making it look perfectly natural.

Juvéderm lasts 6-8 months for most patients, but some people have reported that the effects have lasted as long as 12 months.

Radiesse

Radiesse is a gel that consists of microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite, a synthetic form of the calcium already found in the body. It is especially effective on deep wrinkles and folds, as well as drooping mouth corners and hollowed cheeks, chin, or temples.

Radiesse is capable of supporting your skin’s structure, so it even prevents additional sagging and stimulates the production of collagen. For this reason, the results will continue to improve naturally for a few months after your injections.

No two patients are the same, but Radiesse has lasted as long as 12 months in some patients.

Restylane

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid filler that is excellent for fine to moderate lines and wrinkles, such as smile lines and marionette lines. It is also frequently used to plump thin lips because it is transparent and very soft, allowing it to create a very smooth, natural look without “over-plumping.”

Your first Restylane injections usually last 4-6 months, and the second treatment often lasts longer than a year.

Perlane

Perlane is also made of hyaluronic acid and is similar to Restylane except that the gel’s particles are larger. As a result, it can be injected deeper into the skin to smooth more prominent lines and wrinkles like substantial nasolabial folds. The larger particles also help to lift sagging skin on the face and neck.

The first Perlane treatment usually lasts about 6 months, but the second treatment can last up to 18 months.
