In 2023, there were over 1.57 million cosmetic procedures performed, which is a 5% increase from 2022. Clearly, these surgeries are becoming more and more mainstream, especially since you can address problem areas to look and feel your best.
Procedures can be expensive though, and recovery can be tough too. So you may be looking to combine surgeries so that not only do you save money, but you consolidate the recovery time as well.
Can a Brazilian butt lift be combined with other procedures though? Read on to find out the answer to this question and more important facts you should know.
Can a Brazilian Butt Lift Be Combined With Other Procedures?
Yes, a Brazilian butt lift can be combined with other procedures. In fact, many patients like you go into their consultations asking about getting multiple procedures at once.
You should note that while combining a BBL with other surgeries can get you the stunning results you desire, it’s definitely not the right option for everyone. For instance, as with any type of surgery, you should be in excellent overall health with no major medical conditions.
Also, you should be committed to following a strict post-op recovery routine. If you deviate from your surgeon’s instructions, then the results can be suboptimal. You may even put your health in danger.
There’s the mental aspect of things too. While getting multiple procedures done at once can give you better results than just one, you should still have realistic expectations. Make sure that you understand the risks as well, so you’re not shocked if something happens, even if it’s rare.
You must also be prepared to have a longer healing period. While it won’t be as long as it would be if you got the procedures separately, it’ll still be lengthy. Plus, it can be more painful since you have multiple open wounds.
Can You Get a BBL and Tummy Tuck at the Same Time?
Yes, you can get a BBL and a tummy tuck at the same time. In fact, this is one of the most frequently requested combination surgeries.
Both procedures focus on body contouring, with many patients seeking a flat, toned abdomen and enhanced buttocks. This makes a BBL and tummy tuck combination perfect. Not only will you remove excess skin and tighten the abdomen with the latter, but you’ll also get a large posterior for a more sculpted silhouette.
If you’ve got excess fat in your stomach, then this combination of procedures is excellent. You can have the excess fat liposuctioned out before the tummy tuck, and then the purified fat can go into your buttocks.
The caveat is that since you’re combining a BBL with a tummy tuck, this increases the duration of surgery. Therefore, you’re under anesthesia longer, and this can lead to a higher risk of blood clots and complications.
Also, recovery can be very challenging. A tummy tuck requires you to avoid stretching the abdomen, while a BBL requires avoiding direct pressure on the buttocks. As you can imagine, post-op positioning is difficult and you may struggle.
Other drawbacks include an increased risk of infection, delayed healing, and fat necrosis.
Can You Get a BBL and Breast Augmentation at the Same Time?
Another popular combination is BBL and breast augmentation, so yes, this is possible as well. In fact, patients who seek a full-body transformation often get these surgeries in addition to others during a mommy makeover, which specifically targets the breasts and stomach.
With this combination, you’ll get a gorgeous hourglass figure, meaning a curvier, more proportionate silhouette. There’s no need for additional fat grafting for your breasts, but if you opt for implants, then the harvested fat can go completely into your buttocks.
Do note that you’ll still have the same anesthesia-related risks with these surgeries. There are also recovery challenges here, as you can’t lie on your back nor your front. It’ll take some trials and errors to get positioning right.
What Other Surgeries Can You Get With a BBL?
Aside from tummy tucks and breast augmentation, there are other surgeries you can get with BBL. The ones you choose will depend on your goals.
Liposuction in Multiple Areas
BBLs already involve liposuction, but you can have the surgeon target other areas while they’re at it. For example, you can include the arms, thighs, or back to further enhance body shaping.
Recovery here will still be manageable, as lipo-only areas heal much faster than surgical incisions.
Labiaplasty
Some women choose to combine a BBL with labiaplasty or vaginal rejuvenation for a more comprehensive aesthetic enhancement. It’s a minor procedure, which means that it won’t significantly impact BBL recovery.
Arm Lift or Thigh Lift
Have you gone through major weight loss recently? Then, combining a BBL with an arm lift or thigh lift can drastically improve body contouring results.
The only downside is that you’ll have multiple surgical sites. This can increase discomfort and make your recovery process more complex.
How Many BBLs Can You Get?
Since there are so many surgical combinations available, you might be curious about how many BBLs you can even get. This may be especially relevant if you’ve already had this procedure done but want to improve the results while getting another surgery, such as a tummy tuck.
Technically, there isn’t a limit; however, reputable surgeons don’t recommend going over two or three surgeries. With each round, the amount of usable fat decreases, and you’ll face increased risks of complications. And with each subsequent surgery, you’ll have longer and more challenging recovery periods.
Combine Procedures for Stunning Results
So can a Brazilian butt lift be combined with other procedures? It definitely can! It’s regularly done with other surgeries like tummy tucks and breast augmentation, and as a result, you’ll obtain your ideal body shape.
Do note that it’s not the right choice for everyone. So if you’re interested in getting a BBL with other surgeries, it’s best to speak to a skilled plastic surgeon to discuss the safest approach.
